There are different types of childcare available in Stockton to meet yours and your child's needs.
Ofsted visits all registered childcare providers to make sure that standards are being met and that children are safe. You can check the Ofsted inspection grade and report for the childcare provider you are considering on the Ofsted website.

Childcare Sufficiency Assessment 2024 (CSA)
The Childcare Act 2006 and 2016 and the associated statutory guidance for local authorities on Early Education and Childcare - June 2018, requires Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council to secure sufficient childcare, as far as is reasonably practicable, for working parents, or parents who are studying or training for employment, for children aged 0 to 14 (or up to 18 for disabled children) and to report annually to elected council members on how the council is meeting its duty to secure sufficient childcare.
