Starfish and Red Balloons volunteers needed for festive drop-ins

Starfish and Red Balloons are planning some festive drop-ins for the community over the Christmas period. These sessions are open to anyone and provide much needed company to people who might not have family nearby to spend time with.

They are looking for volunteers who could help out on any of the dates below, for a couple of hours or the full session. The drop-ins will be held in the Starfish building on Yarm Road:

• Christmas Eve at 11am to 3pm - Christmas buffet, games and a visit from Father/Mother Christmas.
• 27 December, Lunch at 11 to 3pm - warm food and games 
• 30 December Lunch at 11am to 3pm - warm food and games 
• 31 December, New Year's Eve at 11am to 3pm - buffet and games 

Last year's sessions were very well attended and full of fun and laughter! Some of the things you could get involved with are:

• Dressing up as Father or Mother Christmas - they have a suit!
• Welcoming people, chatting and making people feel involved
• Help setting up, serving and clearing away food
• Playing games and helping people to join in
